Club Philosophy

We believe in the amazing benefits of swimming, well beyond the obvious benefits of physical fitness. Through swimming, Rocket Swim Club teaches its members lessons for life like goal setting, dedication, commitment, and a strong work ethic. Our primary focus is the development and improvement of swimming skills and motivating our athletes for achievement of goals and strong work ethics through rewards. Rewards come in the form of verbal motivation, to ‘fun & play’ to more official rank promotion awards.

Rocket Swim Club provides the opportunity for all athletes to swim for the love of the sport and to reach their highest potential.

Club History

Our swimming program was formed in 2014 by Alina & Ivan; immigrants from the Republic of Moldova and former members of the Moldova’s National Swim Team. Alina and Ivan have incorporated Moldova’s unique swim training approach (inherited from the former USSR) at Rocket Swim Club.  The results-oriented program is based on strong discipline, respect for teammates and respect for the sport of swimming and swim coaches.

In 2014, Rocket Swim Club started with a mere 3 swimmers but has grown steadily since. Having successfully made it through the pandemic, today ‘Rocket Swim’ has become a club of significance, with 10+ swimmers competing on the provincial level, and 4 of its Senior swimmers competing on national and international levels.

Club Performance Technology

We have partnered with Sportecos to power our athletes results progress through some of the most advanced performance tracking and goal-setting technology that is available in the sport today. This technology now has a proven track record in aiding athletes to reach optimum performance.

Club Goals

Swimming is a life skill in many ways.  Inability to swim is a leading cause of severe injury and death worldwide.  More than 90% of Canadians can’t swim resulting in over 400 Canadian deaths by drowning annually. Our non competitive groups are taught to be confident in the water, safe, and resilient swimmers. While our competitive groups take these values and develop them into high performance swimming abilities.
